In 1992, Ron and Lisa Colburn began buying breeding heifers for their two oldest sons, Tyler and Ryan.  As the boys grew so did the Colburn Cattle Company operation, located in Visalia, California. Most of the show heifers became cows and more productive cows were purchased or raised to create the present day herd, which consists of approximately 300 head.

In 2003 the Colburn Family developed a partnership with Kevin and Christy McKinzie of McKinzie Cattle, to produce top quality cattle for the youth in today’s highly competitive junior livestock arenas.  This partnership has built one of California`s most functional show cattle facilities where junior showmen can learn all aspects of the livestock industry. From daily care of show steers to Embryo transfer to AI, this program has many opportunities for the youth of today. 

We would like to say thank you to the many customers who have believed in this program and kept in contact with us over the years.  These friendships have been made as a result of hard work and the dedication to the young people and their families.
